About Russell Burgos
A scholar of global politics, Russell Burgos serves on the staff of lecturers at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has created and delivered courses on topics such as U.S. foreign policy and international ethics for more than 10 years. Recently, Russell Burgos received the UCLA Alumni Association’s My Last Lecture award, an honor given to instructors chosen by the school’s undergraduate student body.
Outside of his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Burgos enjoys watching sporting events and reading historical fiction. He also likes listening to music, and a few of his favorite artists include Pink Floyd, The Ramones, and jazz legend, Miles Davis. An avid runner, he averages between 75 and 100 miles per month and takes advantage of that time to clear his mind.
Russell Burgos holds degrees from three universities. He completed his BA in English at Loyola University Chicago and an MA in national security studies at George Washington University. Later, he attended UCLA, where he received an MA and PhD in political science.
